I will be tak­ing a semi-sabbatical from Found start­ing August. Its pur­pose will be both pro­fes­sional and spir­i­tual and will last at least three months.

The Found team have plans to be in San Fran­cisco for a good three months from August. With new respon­si­bil­i­ties as a new par­ent I have made the deci­sion to not join the team in the States.

For the past year I have been respon­si­ble for instill­ing in the team an empha­sis for good design as both direc­tor and pro­ducer. The prod­uct has reached a rea­son­ably mature state of pol­ish. I am now com­fort­able with leav­ing it to my out­stand­ing col­leagues. Depend­ing on cir­cum­stances I may not return.

What will I do now I’m a free agent? I intend to invest more energy in Lik­ables – a ven­ture I started with what is now a hand­ful pirate crew of design­ers and engi­neers. I will also offer my help to com­pa­nies who need good design and user expe­ri­ence for a fee, to pay the bills.
